The Minecraft Movie Release Date Has Been Set For May 24, 2019

Warner Bros. Pictures and Mojang have today announced that they have officially set their Minecraft movie release date. Look for the big screen adaptation of the hit video game to arrive Friday, May 24, 2019. That’s the same date that the studio had set aside for their Jason Segel helmed LEGO Adventure, The Billion Brick Race. Expect a new date for that film to be announced shortly.

Mojang COO Vu Bui said in Minecraft release date announcement. “I know you’ve been thinking just about every day, ‘When’s the Minecraft movie coming out?’ Luckily for you, we can finally say! The Minecraft movie will be released on May 24, 2019! The film will also be released in 3D & IMAX. Yes, that might seem like a long time away, but it just so happens to be the right amount of time to make it completely awesome. And we all want an awesome Minecraft movie, right? That’s it for now, but as time goes on we’ll share loads more. Loads!”

Roy Lee and Jill Messick are attached to produce the Minecraft movie, which has It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia creator, writer and star Rob McElhenney attached to direct.
